Holiday Photo Cards

Well its that time of year. Time for your refrigerator to be littered with smiling faces of friends and family. Time to start blaring the Christmas music on the radio, only to get sick of it by the time Christmas actually rolls around. Actually, who am I kidding, I never get sick of Christmas music.

A friend who recently moved to Colorado asked me to design some custom Colorado themed Christmas cards for her. She had a great photo of her little family fly fishing, so I used the colors from the photo along with some hand drawn ornaments to finish off the "Merriest from the Mountains" theme design.

Honoring Etsy... my pilgrimage.

Having an Etsy shop feels like I am part of a huge family. A family that is international, tech-savvy and can paint, knit or sew the pants off of any other family.

It has been such a great experience to build a business inside of this encouraging platform. My husband and I were recently in New York to celebrate my sister's elopement, and I had to stop by the Etsy office just to pay homage. Their office is located right near the Brooklyn Bridge in the trendy DUMBO area. (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass). It took pretty much everything I had not to stop anyone on the street with an Etsy badge to shake their hand and say 'thanks.'

Thanks for running this amazing company that allows people like me to quit their jobs and work in the their pajamas and be a part of so many people's lives.

If I wasn't riding enough of an Etsy cloud, I received a lovely email from the fine folks at The Petite Package to inform me I was recently featured on their blog. The gathered a bunch of their favorite monogram sellers on Etsy and my monogram koozies were featured! One big family I tell you.

Apartment Monument Sign - revamp

Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share a project I completed for an apartment complex in Rhode Island. Their front entrance monument sign was in desperate need of a refresh. Here is the faded brick sign before I got my hands on it:

A new logo was being rolled out for the community, so one of my directives was to make sure that was prominent, as well as keeping some contact info on the sign. Because this project did not have a huge budget, I devised a plan to replace the plaque only, and add dimensional lettering. I thought a cream background with red text would pop better off of the red brick. Here was my initial design:

The community loved the design and we were ready to install. Here are a few shots of the final product:

A clean and simple solution to updating the first impression a customer has when driving up to the property. Graphic design at its finest!
