Devin & Teresa's rustic Texas wedding

My handsome cousin and his gorgeous bride were married this summer just outside of San Antonio at Rustic Gardens. The venue is a former nursery, so there are beautiful pockets of gardens all throughout. Teresa wanted a rustic,  slightly country vibe. Her bridesmaids wore neutral dresses with cowboy boots carrying beautiful baby's breath bouquets, and her lace dress was so simple and elegant! She wanted to incorporate fun typography and the slightly country vibe to her invitations. Here is a look at how everything came together.

Baby Shower Under the Stars recap

A few weeks ago, I mentioned working on a charcoal baby shower invite for a dear friend. The invitation featured string lights and our theme was "under the stars." The hosts and I wanted to keep the decor fairly neutral to match the mom-to-be's house. So we used candles, mason jars, and wooden stands to keep with our natural garden party theme. We had a menu of meatballs, pasta salad, asparagus and spring salad. Followed by the most amazing cupcakes you have ever seen by Lizzy of Sugar Plus Butter.

At the front entrance was a little welcome table. Filled with drinks, a chalkboard nametags for each guest, and an advice note card for everyone to fill out. We then slipped the note cards in to a scrapbook for soon to be Baby Sawyer.

The favors for each guest was a little chalkboard milk carton with a perfume sample, some chocolates and a succulent. I designed the favor tags to match the invitations and tied them up with a jute twine.

Here is the gorgeous mom to be Alyce and I with our baby bumps. Her daughter Sawyer, and our soon to be son, Grant, are 2 months apart. And will naturally fall in love and get married one day.

I forgot to ask our wonderful photographer and host, Anne, to snap a few detail shots of the signage I designed. So here is a sneak peek of the food labels, favor tags, advice notecard and front door welcome sign I created. Get this string light baby shower design for your next party here!

Cottonwood Steakhouse Menu Design

Lately I've been working with a restaurant out in Monument Valley, Utah. The owners approached me to design a 20th Anniversary logo. Now that we've wrapped that up I have worked on a few ads and am currently designing a new menu for them.

One of the great things about hiring a designer is that we help the client evaluate what needs to be said, and how it should be read. Diana, the owner wanted a more modern style to her menu, and an easier way for her mostly European clientel to order with ease. I suggested breaking the menu into "Step by Step" instructions, which she loved! Here is a sneak peek at the menu pages, still a work in progress.

Spotlight on Baby Shower Invitations

Lately I have had babies on the brain. We are expecting a little boy this Halloween! My husband and I are so excited, from the second I found out I was pregnant I was secretly crossing every toe and finger for a boy. My dream would be to have all boys, basically a starting 5 for a professional basketball team. Is that too much to ask?

In light of all the baby thinking/planning going on in my world these days, I have had the pleasure of designing a few invitations for upcoming little one showers. Here is a an example of a "hello world" unisex themed shower. The parents to be do not want to know the sex of the baby, so the hostesses asked for a gender neutral color palatte of light grey and orange. The nursery will be explorer themed, so I used a vintage globe drawing and compass to bring the theme home.

Alexandra's thoughtful hosts wanted to give her coordinating thank you notes. I used the same script font and details so guests would remember the shower when they received a thank you note from Alexandra.

My dear friend Alyce is also having a baby, exactly two months before our little guy is due. She has such a great sense of style, very West Elm neutral and understated. So her girlfriends and I decided to throw a friends only shower in the evening. We wanted the theme to be Under the Stars, complete with string light bulbs, big balloons, mason jars and fun mocktails.

I'll be designing more party signage and a Mad-libs for guests to fill out at the shower, so stay tuned. In light of all these great baby showers, I wanted to offer a discount to any of the Invitations available in my shop.  I have a Bulldog themed shower invite for those puppy loving parents, A Cute as a Button vintage airmail themed baby shower, and my popular Coco Chanel themed baby shower invitations. I am offering $5 off of any invitation using the code BABYFEVER5 during Etsy checkout. Or feel free to contact me if you would like to cook up a unique, original baby shower design for your upcoming event.
